Was talking with mikemcgee last week about the possibility of bringing the entirety of TOFU to San Jose for a full length show.  I figured this would be the perfect show to push through the Downtown Art Series at The Stage and introduce Aural Tradition to the "cultural elite" of San Jose who have the ability to offer some real funding for future poetic projects.  So today I'm collecting data on deadlines and eligibility requirements for the program only to discover a Merc article from last week that both the Downtown Arts Series and it's bigger brother the Performing Arts Series have been cancelled due to lack of available funding from the city.

But hey at least we'll (eventually) have a fancy new city hall at a cost of around $40 million :-(

a) bugmenot definetly rocks. Pass it along to others as well

b) We...er...I mean...someone...yeah, someone... tried that with Santana Row, but they just rebuilt it {sigh}

c) That's been the dream. It moved up to hope last week, but has now dropped back down to dream status for the moment :(

PS - interesting how the articles you reference relate to the 'perspectives'-section front-page piece by poet Dana Gioia about how San Jose needs to revitalize its arts/culture scene by having *private* investors donate to various downtown arts entities.
